When I first saw this man walking along the water's edge, I was attracted to the black and white of his swim trunks. But when I was painting him, I thought that he appeared so contemplative - almost oblivious to everything around him. His stance with arms entwined around his back, his head slightly forward, I wondered what he must have been thinking about that would carry him away. At any rate, I hope he found answers to all that might have been on his mind.
